Wirlu-Murra Yindjibarndi & Brierty Agreement
Established Western Australian civil and mining contractor Brierty Limited and the Wirlu Murra Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation (WMYAC) are very happy to announce their recent agreement under which Brierty will provide training, employment and contracting opportunities to WMYAC.
The agreement witnessed by WMYAC directors, Brierty founder Alan Brierty and Fortescue Metals Group Representatives was signed by WMYAC Chairperson Maudie Jerrold and Brierty CEO Peter McBain.
This is the first such agreement by either group and is the seed for a long and successful relationship.
Peter McBain said, “We understand that today is an important day for the Wirlu-Murra Yindjibarndi. It is also an important day for Brierty as this makes us a better Western Australian Company with a stronger connection to country, as we embrace reconciliation”.
“Brierty Limited recognises and respects the Traditional Owners of the land upon which our projects are located and their links to culture and heritage. We see Traditional Land Owners as key stakeholders in our business”.
