Delivering civil construction and mining services solutions with certainty

Brierty have successfully delivered projects within various relationship contracting arrangements providing mutually beneficial outcomes and ensuring certainty of delivery for our clients.
Some recent projects that we have delivered under alliance or partnering contract arrangements include:
Access Alliance has commenced construction work to upgrade sections of the Great Northern Highway between Muchea and Wubin in Western Australia’s wheatbelt region. The alliance formed in December 2007 (and still delivering in 2009), includes team members from Aecom and Brierty, together with representatives from Main Roads WA. This is the first Program Alliance to be undertaken by Main Roads WA and the largest project yet to be undertaken by Main Roads WA’s Wheatbelt North region.
Brierty, with alliance partners Main Roads Western Australia, BG&E and WML Consultants, commenced construction in January 2006 to upgrade 60 kilometres of the Great Eastern Highway between Tammin and Walgoolan. The alliance has been required to obtain environmental approvals for the project and is aiming to retain as much roadside vegetation as possible. Extensive community consultation has been undertaken with the communities of Merredin and Kellerberrin to incorporate community requirements and secure land acquisition.
Brierty was awarded the contract for clearing and stockpiling of vegetation and topsoil by BHP Billiton Ravensthorpe Nickel Operations in February 2006. The ability of the Brierty and BHP Billiton teams to work closely together to resolve issues saw Brierty awarded additional works. Brierty was able to add value to the project by working with BHP Billiton through design issues on a daily basis, which has led to a trust for a best for project outcome, seeing countless re-designs producing significant benefits. The joint commitment towards safety and environmental management also saw the project achieve over 40,000 manhours LTI and MTI free, and the protection of a highly sensitive environmental area from the spread of dieback and the conservation of rare flora species.
Brierty, in conjunction with joint venture partner Doric, are building five new rail stations at Cockburn Central, Kwinana, Wellard, Rockingham and Warnbro. With the project being the biggest public infrastructure works ever undertaken in the Perth metropolitan area, it is subject to strict environmental requirements and community scrutiny. Project specific Environmental Management Plans have been developed and implemented after approval by the client, the Public Transport Authority (PTA),and stakeholder review. Community issues which have arisen during the construction have been resolved through a collaborative approach between the joint venture and PTA.
