Brierty was assigned to complete the upgrade of access road for the port development at Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Brierty constructed the upgrade of 2km access road over a 12 week period. The access road supports FMG’s port infrastructure operations which involve 24hr road train access resulting on over 10,000 movements every day to the Port area.

Works included:

  • Intersection upgrade at Anderson Point;
  • Pavement construction;
  • Main access road and ancillary works;
  • 2 coat seal road surfacing;
  • Embankment stabilization;
  • Line marking and signage;
  • Management of existing vehicular access;
  • Strip vegetation;
  • Topsoil stripping, stockpiling and re-spread upon completion;
  • Cut to fill earthworks;
  • Culvert crossings and stormwater drainage and structures;
