The Karara Iron Ore project, situated in the Midwest region of Australia, is a joint venture between Gindalbie Metals and Chinese steel producer AnSteel.

Brierty was awarded the contract for the Hematite mining and associated services at the Karara Iron Ore Project with work commencing in June 2011.

Works include:

• Drill and Blast;
• Crushing and Screening;
• Road Haulage;
• Train Loading;
• Clearing, removal and stockpiling of topsoil;
• Construction and maintenance of haul roads;
• Construction of pits;
• Excavation, loading, hauling and stockpiling of ore and waste;
• Surface drainage;
• In-pit drainage and dewatering; and
• Excavation
