Various contracts have been undertaken at Woodie Woodie comprising tailings dam, rehabilitation, removal of overburden, airport runway construction and road reconstruction and overlay works.
Rehabilitation
- Shaping, contouring, ripping and placement of topsoil (RL284 – 248).
Removal of Overburden
- Safety bund construction;
- Topsoil strip;
- Clear and grub; and
- Excavation under double shift arrangement for 10,000bcm using D10 dozers, 631 scrapers,
375 and 773 dump trucks, 345 excavators and D400 articulated dump trucks
Airport Runway Construction
- Pavement construction – 2.2km x 100m;
- Runway construction – 2.2km x 30m; and
- Installation of drainage including culverts and headwalls
Road construction to the Skull Springs section
- 30km of earthworks and embankment foundation;
- Basecourse construction;
- Culvert installation;
- Stabilised floodways and creek crossings; and
- Primer seal
