Brierty will construct the 8.5km access road over a 25 week period. The access road will support the new $225 million Public Access Berth at Utah Point currently under construction in the Port Hedland Inner Harbour.

Works include:

  • Establishment of temporary site facilities and services
  • Strip vegetation and establish borrow pit area
  • Stockpile and manage the different material won from the borrow pit area
  • Topsoil stripping, stockpiling and respread upon completion
  • Cut to fill and borrow to fill earthworks including long haulage
  • Mangrove clearing and laying down
  • Geo-fabric and geo-grid installation
  • Culvert crossings and stormwater drainage and structures
  • Erosion protection
  • Pavement construction
  • Construct temporary by-pass road for FMG access to Anderson Point
  • Asphalt and 2 coat seal road surfacing
  • Intersection upgrade at Anderson Point
