Brierty will construct the 8.5km access road over a 25 week period. The access road will support the new $225 million Public Access Berth at Utah Point currently under construction in the Port Hedland Inner Harbour.
Works include:
- Establishment of temporary site facilities and services
- Strip vegetation and establish borrow pit area
- Stockpile and manage the different material won from the borrow pit area
- Topsoil stripping, stockpiling and respread upon completion
- Cut to fill and borrow to fill earthworks including long haulage
- Mangrove clearing and laying down
- Geo-fabric and geo-grid installation
- Culvert crossings and stormwater drainage and structures
- Erosion protection
- Pavement construction
- Construct temporary by-pass road for FMG access to Anderson Point
- Asphalt and 2 coat seal road surfacing
- Intersection upgrade at Anderson Point
- Kerb and guttering
- Crash barriers
- Sub-soil drainage
